I speak on topics related to technology and innovation projects 5-10 times a year. Time on stage varies from 20 minutes to 3 hours. I will customize my presentation to meet your organization’s specific needs. My goal is to facilitate the outcome you want to create.

You can read more about me and my background on my «about me» page.

My most requested topics

My most requested topics include the following. Keep in mind that I can present these as a keynote or an interactive workshop.

Why Technology Projects Fail So Often and So Spectacularly – And How You Can Prevent This

Big technology projects fail at an astonishing rate. Whether major technology implementations, post-merger integrations, or new growth strategies, these efforts consume tremendous resources over months or even years.

Yet, as study after study has shown, they frequently deliver disappointing returns—by some estimates, in fact, well over half the time. These reports show that 25 percent of technology projects fail outright; that 20 to 25 percent don’t show any return on investment; and that as much as 50 percent need massive reworking by the time they’re finished.

The question is why. Why do so many technology projects fail—and fail so spectacularly?

This talk will be about the 10 most common reasons for project failure that I’ve encountered in my work as a project recovery consultant, and how you can prevent these from happening.

Technology Trends Shaping Our Future

This talk walks your audience through current technology megatrends like Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Robotics, Internet of Things, Edge Computing, Cyber Security, Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies. According to my clients (see testimonials) I am able to explain complicated technologies in such a way that it is easily understandable for a non-technical audience.

I will adopt the talk in such a way that the trends most relevant for your industry or company will be explained more in depth. Alternatively, you can just pick one or two trends of your interest that I will explain your audience in detail.

Doing Something That’s Never Been Done – What Corporates Can Learn From Deep Technology Startups

Executives can learn a lot from how some deep technology startups approach their projects. This isn’t true for all kinds of projects, but it is for every project that involves doing something that hasn’t been done before and has a high risk-reward profile.

This talk will explain what I have learned from working with deep technology startups as an Angel Investor, Board Member, and Advisory Board Member and how it can help you in your organization to successfully drive high risk / high reward projects.

Price

Fees range from CHF 2’500,- to 12’000,- based on the audience, the preparation necessary, the distance, the length of the presentation, if its live or online, and the size of the group.

I do not use a speaker’s bureau (it just adds to the cost). Expenses (business class airfare and hotel) are extra. If we mutually agree that this is a good fit, you’ll receive a firm quotation on the fee and the expenses. I’ll make my own travel arrangements.

Audio/video capture is only allowed after mutual agreement beforehand.

What others are saying …

Please accept our sincere appreciation for the outstanding presentation you made at our Synergex DevPartner Conference. We received rave reviews from customers and employees alike. It was clear that you took the time to understand our company mission and we were all thrilled with the care you took to tailor your presentation to our audience. We look forward to utilizing this presentation in our marketing efforts for the foreseeable future. – Synergex

Our first session on crypto currency with two ‘guru’s’ of the scene had been a complete flop. So, the challenge that Henrico was facing was big: how to help experienced people from the old economy understand the mechanism and the economical meaning of the blockchain and cryptocurrencies. The result was a complete success, so much that we repeated the session with another group and it was a success again! The pedagogical ability of Henrico is amazing! He finds very simple ways to describe complex concepts. We are very enthusiastic and look forward to a session with him on AI! – General Manager of Business Angels Switzerland

We as the company swisspartners, had the pleasure to experience Henrico as a presenter of the six technology mega trends. His knowledge and ability to make these trends understandable to laypeople are extraordinary. The whole company has extremely benefited from Henrico’s presentation. Even after his visit he provided additional information regarding the mentioned topics. If you are looking for someone who is able to explain very technical topics understandable, especially to «amateurs», Henrico is the man. – Portfolio Manager @ swisspartners

Henrico can simplify any AI/blockchain/IT topic, summarize it and extract the essence for investors to make proper technical due diligence. Well done! – Managing Director @ Reinhart Capital

Henrico was an invited speaker on our Swisscom Customer Experience Day event in October 2016. The theme of the event was agile insights, and how they relate to organization, leadership and culture, environment and collaboration, and measuring success. His talk «Getting a little bit better every day» was well prepared and well received by both organizers and attendees. I can highly recommend him as a speaker for any of your events on topics related to agile and software development in General. – Human Centered Design Consultant @ Swisscom
